SEVIERVILLE, TN (Sept. 8, 2008) – The Tennessee Bankers Association recently honored 10 past and present state bankers at the Leaders in Banking Excellence reception on Wednesday, August 20th at the organization’s headquarters in Nashville, TN. William Y. Carroll, Sr., Chairman and Director of Business Development of SmartBank, was honored as a Leader in Banking Excellence and presented with a commemorative plaque highlighting his career which was unveiled at the ceremony. Mr. Carroll, a veteran banker with 45 years of experience said, “I am very pleased and honored to have been presented this award with over 200 bankers and family members present for the dedication”. The Tennessee Bankers Association recognizes exceptional bankers throughout Tennessee who have helped shape the Tennessee banking industry. At the ceremony, honorees are presented with commemorative plaques which are also on display at the TBA headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee.
