Pigeon Forge, TN (June 23, 2010) SmartBank has announced the addition of two new Officers to its team. Gus Floodquist will serve the Bank in its Gatlinburg location as Vice President and Lending Officer. Bryan Johnson joins the Knoxville team serving as Vice President and Controller. SmartBank President & CEO, Billy Carroll, stated, “The Bank has had an outstanding start our first 3 ½ years and we are fortunate to continue to add Associates to our team with the experience and talent that Gus and Bryan possess. Gus brings over 18 years of combined experience in customer relations and management, and has worked in the local banking community for over 6 years. He graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 1991 where he received a Bachelor of Arts, and completed the Graduate School of Banking in Baton Rouge, LA in 2007. Gus is an active member of the Gatlinburg Rotary Club and a graduate of Leadership Sevier. He is a member of Alder Branch Baptist Church and resides in Sevierville with his wife Julie and their son Skyler.
Bryan joins the organization as Controller. He was previously employed with Moon Capital Management where he was the Head of Research. Bryan received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1991. He also received his Doctor of Jurisprudence and Masters of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee in 2000. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and Attorney and a member of the Tennessee Bar. He served as an Officer in the United States Army from 1991 – 1996. Bryan also worked as an Adjunct Professor for the University of Tennessee teaching Security Analysis and Financial Statement Analysis courses from 2002 – 2009. Bryan and his wife, Heidi reside in Knoxville.
