Knoxville, Tenn. – SmartBank has announced that Andy Carey has joined its Knoxville team as First Vice President, Relationship Manager.
“We are very excited to have an industry leader of Andy’s caliber join the SmartBank family,” said Mike Honeycutt, SmartBank Senior Vice President and Knoxville Area Market Executive. “His background and experience will be a great addition to the bank, as well as to the communities we serve here in East Tennessee.”
Carey brings more than 24 years of experience in the financial industry with him to SmartBank, having most recently served as Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Relationship Manager for Regions Bank. Prior to his time with Regions, he worked with several banks in both North Carolina and Florida. He is a graduate of Florida State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Economics.
Outside of the office, Carey has stayed active in the community, including involvement with the Blount, Knox and Loudon Chambers of Commerce. He is also passionate about St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, having led fundraising efforts to support the Tennessee-based children’s hospital.
