SmartBank recently presented a $15,000 check to Friends of the Smokies to support its annual fundraising effort for Great Smoky Mountains National Park (GSMNP). Since 2010, SmartBank has donated nearly $130,000 to the local non-profit.
“It is truly an honor to partner with Friends of the Smokies, and other local organizations who work tirelessly to encourage environmental awareness while promoting, maintaining and protecting our mountains,” said Billy Carroll, SmartBank President and CEO.
Kelley Fowler, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Public Relations Officer for SmartBank said, “We are happy to once again support Friends of the Smokies through our Park Partners program. Our Park Partners Program is a great way for us to help organizations succeed in their mission to preserve these beautiful mountains in our backyard.”
“Friends of the Smokies is grateful for the ongoing partnership with our community friend, SmartBank,” said Friends of the Smokies Executive Director, Tim Chandler. “These funds will continue to help the Friends in preserving and protecting Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Smokies are free to visit but not free to maintain, and without our partners we would not be able to sustain this national treasure.”
