The newly created position will play a critical role in leading efforts toward meeting the bank’s community development goals, which include a strong focus on serving the needs of low to moderate income areas. In this role, Lytle will work closely with SmartBank associates to identify community involvement opportunities, promote diversity efforts and assist in the coordination of SmartBank’s charitable giving program.
“Travis has been a phenomenal leader with the bank and also in the community,” said Billy Carroll, SmartBank President and CEO. “His passion for serving in the local community and improving the lives of those around him is remarkable and I can’t think of anyone more suited for leading our community development efforts.”
Lytle has been in the finance industry for 20 years serving most recently as a Senior Vice President, Relationship Manager with the bank.
He obtained a bachelor’s degree in finance from Middle Tennessee State University and is a graduate of Leadership Chattanooga and the Young American Professional Leaders Class at Harvard University.
“Since my first day with SmartBank, I’ve been afforded a number of great opportunities, but none more exciting than this new role,” said Lytle. “I am honored to have the opportunity to lead the bank’s community development efforts and directly impact so many lives in the communities we serve.”
For years, Lytle has been an active member of the Chattanooga community, serving on a number of boards, including the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga, Co-Lab of Chattanooga, and the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce board.
